The Science Fair

I was never good at science. Not as a kid, not as a teenager; I got my lowest marks in university in Biology and Physical Science. So naturally, when our elementary school announced they were going to have a science fair, I was excited to be able to contribute my scientific knowledge. My girls both entered and although neither one placed, it was such a good experience for them that I'm sure we'll enter again next year. They learned about the scientific method (which I, in fact, did remember) and were excited to find out the results to their hypotheses. I've already started thinking about ideas for next year's fair. This time we might have to step up our game - there's only so many "Participation" ribbons a mother...I mean kid...should get.

All three kids after the fair, showing off their certificates and ribbons (there was an extra for Tony P)
